Free Guided Tour: Obor—Between the Market and the City

"Stories from Bucharest" becomes POV.Bucharest and launches a new platform dedicated to rediscovering the city through personal stories, digital maps, walking tours, and events that bring people together.

“The Living Map of Sector 2” is the platform’s first project: an invitation to get to know the places and people that give Bucharest its identity. We’re starting with the neighborhoods of Sector 2, where houses, courtyards, workshops, and small, traditional businesses preserve the memory of the communities that built the city and continue to bring it to life. We bring their stories together in a cultural map accessible to everyone, both online and on foot.

One of these walks takes us through Obor: between the market and the city. From the Târgul Moșilor to the market halls and the remnants of old factories, we discover how commerce, celebration, and everyday life have shaped a neighborhood’s identity and brought generations of Bucharest residents together.
